Artist’s
Statement
Cathy has always loved to draw and paint...giving all the credit to
God for what she has accomplished. As a young girl, she studied
painting in her home town of Milledgeville, Ga. Betty C. Baugh,
Cathy's high school art teacher, first introduced her to
Impressionism.
Cathy graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree. She has grown under the instruction of Beverly
Flanders, Jo Ann Williams Walker, Nancy Dusenberry, and Roger Dale
Brown. She continues to be encouraged by a group of fellow artists
who paint together regularly. Cathy's work today embodies
exaggerated brush strokes, and bold use of color.
Cathy is represented by the Flint Gallery of Panoply in Newnan, Ga.
